Corrigan makes moving for work straightforward!
Whether you’ve landed a new job or got promoted, congratulations are in order! You have done the hard part of deciding to relocate for your work and now it’s time to allow Corrigan Moving to manage the specifics. Our expertly trained crew has seen many employee relocation benefit packages and, as a corporate transferee, we’ll review your benefits, assess your requirements and recommend moving services that are within your allotted cost parameters. At Corrigan, we believe in doing what’s right for our transferees which is why we make employee relocations as easy as 1, 2, 3.
What to anticipate when relocating for your work?
Corporate benefit packages are specific to each employer. Your Human Resources will give you the details of your relocation package and initiation directions. Depending on your personal level of benefits, you’ll be directed to a particular mover, or you could be required to pick a mover independently. Regardless, Corrigan’s knowledgeable team will be available, helping you during every step of the way.
Your Move Survey
Because the full cost of your relocation will be based on the total weight and miles, a home survey is necessary to estimate the weight of your household goods. At the home survey, you will walk a moving representative throughout your house and garage, discussing the things that will be part of your move. You will need to open doors, cabinets, drawers as well as look under beds for things that are easily forgotten!
*Virtual home surveys have greatly become the typical way of performing a home survey for our corporate relocation transferees. However, in-home surveys with a personal moving representative are still available.
Assessing the Quote & Deciding Moving Needs
After finishing your move survey, you will be provided a moving quote. Corrigan’s relocation representative will be able to go over the estimate in detail and offer options for ensuring you stay within your allocated relocation budget.
A couple points to consider when refining your moving needs to lower the cost of your relocation:
- You can bring down the total cost by packing your own things, or, lowering the amount of packing to include just the essential, delicate things.
- Donating or selling things that are no longer useful will reduce the weight, extend your relocation budget, and remove unnecessary items in your new home.
- Are your dates flexible? If there is flexibility in your dates and you are able to push your dates earlier or later; you may see a reduction in cost. Be sure to inform move coordinator know if your dates are fixed.
Your move consultant will help you to determine a custom relocation plan that meets your exact relocation needs and keeps within your given budget. Our experience moving corporate transferees gives you access to the industries’ most skilled and seasoned experts with an arsenal of custom moving options.
Your Move
Once the specifics are decided and your relocation is on the books, you will be given a personal move coordinator[[. This person will provide help at each stage of your move. He or she will see to it that you have the info you need to know, at the time you need to know it and will be a resource for any questions, concerns, or changes you have to your move program.
Your move coordinator will be in touch at key moments to give you necessary info about your relocation and keep you versed. Between scheduling your move with Corrigan Moving and loading, you will be giving info on:
- Moving Guide & Calendar
- Non-allowable items
- Packing tricks & high value items documentation
- Driver introductions
- Information about what to expect when load day comes
- Move day updates
As your one point of contact, we encourage our corporate customers to contact your your move coordinators anytime during the move process.
Delivery & Getting Settled
In the days leading up to delivery, your move coordinator will be in constant communication, establishing final dates, times and getting you ready for what to expect upon delivery. You will be told valuable information about the inventory of goods, your job during the delivery day and more.
After delivery, you will be given a follow-up phone call from your move coordinator along with a request to answer our customer satisfaction survey. And, if you need, your move coordinator will guide you through the initial process for submitting a claim.
